Past

Once there was only the void, but the void was conscious. The void sat there pondering about his own existence. How did he come to be? Would he always be the only conscious thought or would others somehow rise up? He decided not to wait or perhaps he decided that no other being like him would take form unless he gave it a push. He flung his thoughts out, hoping that one of them would take form, but none of them did. These thoughts bounced around for awhile than faded away. The void tried many things to keep this from happening, but nothing he tried seemed to work. Than he decided to wrap his thoughts inside his own essence. He did three thoughts like this and sent them out into the vast emptiness, and waited to see what would happen. He hoped this attempt worked, but the previous failures gave him doubt that it would.

He soon learned that his hope was not misplaced. Those thoughts wrapped inside his essence became not three new conscious being but six. These six became the warlords of the void, but they were not the only ones whom came into being that day. Other denizens of the void sprung up. How they came into being was anyone guess. Some say that the void previous attempts had not been as much of a failure as he believed. They only faded away to gather what they needed to become beings of their own. Others claimed that when the three became six that small pieces flung out and from them the other denizens were born. Than some claim both are true while other neither and come up with numbers of other theories. Either way, the void was not as empty as it once was.

These new beings--whether warlord or denizen--begun to shape the void, carving kingdoms and other such things into the landscape. However, they were all unaware of the being growing inside the void until she burst forth from him. This new being became known as Aine. It was clear that she was different from the others whom came before her, but it would be awhile before they figured out how. She became Queen of the Void, and it was sometime after this that her differences became clear. She became pregnant. This was something that had not happened before, and many wondered if they too could bring forth life this way. However, try as they might any attempts they made failed. Soon after Aine gave birth to her son she begun to wonder if she could create life with her mind as well.

It didn't take her long to discover that she could. Aine created the world of Asmiara, and the species of witches to populate it. She created six concepts to guide her new children thanshe sat back to watch them grow and see what they would become. She was not the only one interested in her new created, but many of the children of the void were as well. It didn't take them long to decide they wanted to go to Asmiara---a plane of existence that was very different than the rest of the void itself. Some for the sake of simple curiosity. Others because they believed that it could be manipulated like the rest of the void, but they would quickly learn how wrong they had been.

They found two ways to enter into the realm of Asmiara. The first way was to possess someone--it didn't matter if the person was living or dead. This way allowed the void child to retain all his memories and powers, but becoming unconscious even for a split second will send them back into the void. The second method is to be born into Asmiara--often times through a ritual. Through, sometimes the void child would gain possession of an unborn fetus before it gained a soul. This way allowed them to remain tethered to Asmiara to such a degree that only death would send them back to the void, but any memories the void child had before he was born was forgotten and often he had no access to his powers. Instead, he tended to possess whatever powers and abilities of the Asmiaran species he had decided to be born into.

Each void child whom decided to enter into Asmiara decided which method they wished to use. However, whatever method they decided it was agreed that this new world was a fascinating place. Aine's witches grew and it didn't take long for them to decide to created species of their own. Well, the six the Aine had created to act as a guide for her new children had. These creations not only had a great impact upon Asmiara, but within the void, as well. Whenever one of Aine's concepts created a new species somehow almost mirror-like void children would appear within the void. How or why these new void children came into being was anyone guess. Some say that Asmiara is more connected to the void than anyone believes, and very strong magic cast within Asmiara often bleed out into the void. Others claim that the void himself mimics whatever Aine or one of her concept's creates out of love for her. Than there were those whom said it was the creative concepts' destructive counterparts--one of the warlords---whom held responsibility for bring for the mirror-like void child.

This was how Aslan came into being. He was born--if one wishes to use this term---shortly after the concept of nature created the fae. He was curious about the world he found himself within, and he decided to go exploring. It didn't take him long to learn how malleable the void was, and like any child with a new toy he took great glee in playing with it. Another thing that he became aware of was that the other void children were very interested with him, and many wished to possess him. They tried to get him to come to their kingdom, and tried various method to keep him bond to them. None of their attempts worked, and it wasn't long before he had his own kingdom--a land that he named Hirali.

Aslan ruled his land for many years, and he attracted many subjects---those void children whom are too weak to rule their own kingdom and not strong enough to keep another void child from gaining possession over them. He was content with this existence for some time, but than like many other void child his attention turned towards Asmiara. It didn't take him long for him to decide he wish to experience this world for himself, but deciding which method he would use to walk upon Asmiara was not as easy. In the end, he decided to possess someone. He wanted to maintain a sense of self while he experiences Asmiara for himself.

The only question left was whom he should possess. Asmiara was a world filled with some many possibilities, but it wasn't as easy as just pointing at someone and saying 'I pick you' There were those whom couldn't be posses no matter what. Those whom lived within the void would be ruler of their own kingdoms. Aslan knew others whom took great pleasure out of attempting to possess the strong-willed, but he had no interest in such things. He wanted to experience Asmiara not have a battle of will that he could pretty much have if he remained within the void. He eventually decided upon a body. The person he decided to possess was a human whom ended up in a vegetative state after a serious accident.

Present

He begun his exploration of Asmiara. It was everything he expected and more. It was very different than the void, and he finds himself both amazed and confused by it. In spite any bewilderment he might feel for this world he has no regrets about coming here. In fact, it only increases his fascination with Asmiara. He only explored this new world for a short time before he stumbled upon a summer fae. He was immediately drawn to her. He doesn't completed understand what it is about her that calls to him. He isn't a strange to being attracted to someone. He had many lovers within the void, but what he feels for this fae is different. He knows that much. He just doesn't understand why it is different.

He doesn't understand why he wish to spend every possible moment with her, and the idea of anything happening to her fills him with a feeling he doesn't like. He doesn't know how much time they will have together before he finds himself back inside the void. The method he decided to use means it could be five minutes or a thousands of years. Of course, this is true if he had been born into Asmiara. After all, one doesn't know when death will find them. He is just more aware of the possible short time he might have on Asmiara. However, he knows for certain that when he finds his way back into the void that he will return back to Asmiara even if he has to tear the veil that separate Asmiara and the void asunder.
